About the Exhibit
This exhibit was first developed as the Final Project for the Fall 2022 SJSU course INFO 220-13: Visual Resources Curation and Arts Librarianship
This exhibit sheds light on the attitudes and actions of Spiritualists in San Francisco in the second half of the nineteenth century. Arranged in three image collections, the exhibit pays tribute to
- A sample of select Spiritualists prominent to the growth of the movement in San Francisco c. 1850-1900
- A sample of select maps and photographs of San Francisco showing the changes in demographics and landscape c. 1850-1900
- A sample of select articles featured in San Francisco based newspapers which reflect the activities of Spiritualists c. 1850-1900
